This entire ‘PC March’ we have been looking at all the great things PC gaming can bring us. That’s a lot and it’s only going to get better. PlayStation and Xbox will also bring their exclusive games to the PC. Sometimes with delay, but they do come. Then why do you still need a console? Every analyst agrees that the PC will become increasingly popular. However, will that transition take place soon? Or will the PC have to take a back seat in 2024? JJ looked at the reports and forecasts from research agencies, among others Newzoo, Statista, Video Game Insights and Canalyz and comes up with the following story.

The reports from the agencies can provide a solution in the search for answers to this question. First, let’s look at 2023. How did PC gaming do there and what influenced the outcome? If there was growth, why was that? Was it the free to play games with their microtransactions that caused this or did the ‘normal’ games score well?
