The books Bobbi on the potty and Bobbi is going to be a big brother have been awarded a Golden Book. The award goes to children’s books that have sold more than 75,000 copies.

This was reported by the book association CPNB on Wednesday. Writers Monica Maas and Ingeborg Bijlsma were both surprised at home with the certificate. Kluitman publisher Mariska Budding presented the award.

The Bobbibooks have been popular with toddlers and preschoolers for years. There are now more than 65 different ones Bobbibooks were published and sold more than three million copies worldwide.

Maas lives and works on Texel. Her illustrations appeared in magazines such as Bobo, Dragonfly and Children. Bijlsma also wrote the toddler books about Sep and Fien for Kluitman. She also worked in education and at Schooltv.

Books for adults are awarded a Golden Book when 200,000 copies have been sold. For children’s books, this happens at 75,000 copies.
