Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive have introduced DLSS with patch 1.1.2f1 for Cities: Skylines II. According to the companies, the upscaling technology should ensure better performance. The patch also makes the recently discontinued DLC available for free.

The companies announce in a blog post that the strategy game now supports DLSS, but do not explain which version of the upscaling technique it concerns. Based on the game files, Tweakers concludes that it is version 3.1.11.0, which is a variant of DLSS 2 with support for upscaling.

Cities: Skylines II was released in October and suffered significant performance issues. The developer acknowledged these issues and promised to improve performance with updates. According to various tweakers, the game is now performing significantly better and DLSS support may provide further performance improvements. DLSS 2 works on all systems with an RTX video card.

With the patch in question, Colossal further introduces the content that was first sold as Beach Properties DLC. This content pack has been removed from sale because, according to the developer, the content did not meet customer expectations.
