The successor to the Nintendo Switch may have controllers that are magnetically attached to the console. This is what the Spanish site Vandal writes. With the current Switch, this is done with a sliding rail system.

The controllers use ‘magnetic suction’ to attach to the console. Users may need to press a button to attach or detach the controllers. The rumor comes from the Spanish site Vandal, which was able to speak to peripheral equipment manufacturers with knowledge of the matter. The news was confirmed by Mobapad, a Chinese manufacturer of peripherals for the Switch.

According to Mobapad, the controllers of the next Switch will be larger. They get new buttons on the left and right. There will also be a new function button below the Home button on the right controller. In addition, the SL and SR buttons on the new controllers are made of metal.

Furthermore, Mobapad says that the new Switch is completely backwards compatible is with physical games from the original console. This also applies to the old controllers, although they will probably not be able to be attached to the new console due to the magnetic system. The company also confirms previous rumors that the next Switch will have an 8-inch 1080p screen.
