It seems that some new details have been leaked about the Nintendo Switch 2 and this time it is surprisingly Mobapad, an accessory manufacturer, that has released some information itself. However, there is a good chance that Mobapad does not have the information first-hand, but has learned it through the grapevine while developing new accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2.

To start, Mobapad elaborates on an earlier report that the Nintendo Switch 2 would have larger, magnetic Joy-Con controllers. This is true according to Mobapad, but the manufacturer adds that the new controllers will have metal SL and SR buttons, as well as a third button on the left and right. Mobapad says that the current Joy-Con controllers will still be supported, but only via a wireless connection.

Furthermore, Mobapad states that the Nintendo Switch 2 will support a resolution of 4K, but only in docked mode. In handheld mode, the 8-inch screen is said to support up to 1080p.

Finally, according to Mobapad, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be backwards compatible and support physical games from the Nintendo Switch, which once again makes it clear that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be a solid evolution of the Nintendo Switch, rather than a completely new concept.

All in all, the above information seems to be quite consistent with what has previously been released about the Nintendo Switch 2, which is not illogical since the new console is expected in the course of 2025 and more and more final details are leaking into the world.
