Nike and Apple are working together again and these sneakers are the result

--

Apple boss Tim Cook walked around in special sneakers from the Nike brand during the presentation of the new iPads on Tuesday. The shoes have a design that was designed on the new iPad Pro using the updated Apple Pencil Pro.

What Tim Cook has at his feet during the Apple presentations usually does not attract attention. But that happened today at the presentation of the new iPads. Tim Cook wore a pair of Nike Air Max 1 ’86s specially made for him. The sneakers were designed on the new iPad Pro using the updated Apple Pencil Pro.

The Nike iPad sneakers feature an off-white body and sole, with a speckled pattern and a drawn rainbow design around the swoosh, resembling the pencil lines of a sketch. On the tongue of the shoes are the handwritten words ‘Made on iPad’.

Long-term collaboration

The unique Nike Air Max ’86’s are one of the many ‘collabs’ between Apple and Nike in recent years. The first collaboration dates back to 2006, when both companies worked together on the iPod. Later there was also an Apple Watch Nike.

These special iPad sneakers will not be for sale. The edition seems to be one copy for the time being, that of Tim Cook. So if they ever come up for auction, a collector might be willing to pay a lot of money for them.

New iPads

On Tuesday afternoon, Apple presented its new iPad Pro and the updated iPad Air. The new versions of the Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil were also announced.
