Nokia may still be releasing smartphones in 2024, but everyone remembers the brand as that of the indestructible dumbphones that survived everything. The Nokia 3210 was such a device. A modern version of this is now being released, with camera and 4G.

HMD, the company that has been releasing smartphones under the Nokia name since 2016, has released a new, modern version of the 3210. This month marks exactly 25 years since that model was released. In May 1999, Nokia launched the predecessor of the even more legendary 3310 on the market for the first time. Now there is a new release with a slightly more modern look, although you should not expect mountains of gold for the 80 euros that the model costs.

Although the Nokia 3210 from 2024 has a color screen and a mobile connection so that it is technically a smartphone, it nevertheless has a 2.4″ display with a QVGA resolution and the device only has a 4G modem. The device further supports Bluetooth 5.0 and, for the truly nostalgic users, a 3.5mm port next to the USB-C connection.

Furthermore, the phone has a 1450mAh battery, but because the screen is so small, it will probably last longer than you think. There is also 128MB of internal storage memory – no, that’s not a typo, those are really megabytes, but you can expand the memory with a micro SD card. The model also has 64MB of RAM and the phone uses the Unisoc T107 SoC. The phone has a strikingly modern dual SIM tray.

The biggest innovation of the new 3210 is a camera on the back, although you shouldn’t expect too much from that either. It only has two megapixels and HMD does not say what kind of lenses the camera has – but for the price of 80 euros, most buyers probably don’t care that much. HMD says it is releasing the phone because users are increasingly afraid of phone addiction themselves. “Stop scrolling for a moment and refocus on what’s really important,” the company says about the device. HMD has put Snake on the device, so you won’t get bored anytime soon.
