72 years ago, Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard arrived in Washington DC for a state visit to the United States and Canada. Take a look at the nostalgic images of this visit.

Queen Juliana and her husband arrive in Washington DC on April 3, 1952 for a state visit. The program includes a four-week tour of the United States and Canada. Queen Juliana spent a large part of the Second World War in that second country. During the visit, Juliana and Bernhard will visit the cities of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, among others.

Arrival in Washington DC

The images below show Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard arriving by plane in Washington DC, where they are welcomed by President Truman. Before they start their tour, the Dutch royal couple will first spend three days with President Truman and his wife.
