Ajax is serious about the arrival of Graham Potter. Reporter Cristian Willaert van ESPN reports on Wednesday evening prior to the Amsterdam team’s home match with Excelsior (9 p.m.) that the English trainer ‘will even be in Amsterdam today or tomorrow’. In fact, Willaert does not rule out that Potter will already be in the stands of the Johan Cruijff ArenA tonight.
Potter’s name has been around at Ajax for some time. The currently club-less coach would have previously declined the coaching position for next season, but on Tuesday it suddenly emerged from England that Potter may move to Amsterdam next season in the wake of Alex Kroes, who should return to Ajax as general manager.

That rumor was confirmed on Wednesday by ESPN. “It seems that Ajax is working on next year’s trainer. Our indications are that Ajax would speak very seriously with Graham Potter. In fact, he would even be in Amsterdam today or tomorrow. Maybe we will see him in the stands soon,” says Willaert.
