He now lives in New York, but is known in Arnhem as one of the two ‘Fish Brothers’: Luuk de Haan. The Arnhemmer is ‘back in the Netherlands’ and is looking for love in the TV program First Dates. At the bar he meets the Nijmegen Noortje.

Bartender Victor asks Luuk what his type is. His answer is: “If she has red hair and freckles, she has two plus points.” And then the red-haired Noortje from Nijmegen walks in.
‘Stupid jokes’
“Yes, you look really nice,” the Arnhemmer says to her. The two make small talk at the bar and then settle down at a table for two. Luuk makes joking comments about how he forgot to bring flowers and chocolate. Noortje laughs, to the delight of the Arnhemmer, ‘at his stupid jokes’.

True love?
The end of the date is in sight and the famous treasure chest with the bill is placed on the table. “I will pay,” Luuk says firmly. Noortje asks to share the amount, but Luuk doesn’t want to know about that.
