Arne Slot is currently the most talked about man in English football, as was evident again on Thursday afternoon. On television channel Sky Sports images were shown of the Feyenoord coach, who is confronted with the British press for the first time since the rumors surrounding Liverpool’s specific interest.

When Slot gets off the bus, journalist Gary Cotterill is immediately ready to question him. “You’re in the news,” the Englishman kicks off. The 45-year-old success coach of Feyenoord does not deny that. “That’s me!” Slot can’t suppress a big smile.

Slot is then asked whether it is a possibility that he will start working in the Premier League. Cotterill also wants to know whether it is true that Liverpool is after him. Slot, however, keeps his jaw tight. “Tonight we play against Go Ahead Eagles!” A security guard intervenes, after which Cotterill gives up. “Good luck!”

Feyenoord kicks off in Deventer at 9:00 PM for the difficult away match against Go Ahead Eagles. Wednesday’s preparatory press conference was previously canceled, although according to the Rotterdammers this had nothing to do with the transfer troubles surrounding Slot. If PSV wins at SC Heerenveen on Thursday evening and Feyenoord does not do so in the Adelaarshorst, the Eindhoven team will be national champions for the 25th time.
