Rotterdam Papa Jay Lopez (38) is known to many for his participation in ‘Een Huis Vol’. From 2017 to 2019, this reality show gave a glimpse into the life of this single father, who took care of his five children after the mother left them.
“Félice in particular thinks: give me the script and I will stand in front of the camera”
A lot has changed within the Lopez family. The children Talitha (18), Danilo (17), Jaïro (15), Jordan (11) and Félice (10) have become a lot older and wiser. Moreover, dad Jay now has a new partner, Saffiera (38). The two met in early 2020 and that same year Jay asked her to marry him.
The two are still fond of each other and to be honest: although Jay had mastered parenting well, life appears to be a lot calmer and easier with her by his side. They even had time and hands left for a sixth child. Noëlla, their first child together, was born almost two years ago.
The arrival of a baby naturally brings a different dynamic to the family, but according to Saffiera it is also a lot of fun. This raises the question of whether more children are on the way. Saffiera does not rule it out, Jay would prefer to have five more children. “But then I have to do some extra work as a stripper,” he jokes in an interview with RTV Rijnmond.
Because of his sweet and caring nature, Jay was clearly the crowd favorite during his time in A House Full. That is why he is regularly asked whether he will soon be seen again in a new season of the program.
Although the kids seem excited about a possible return to television, Jay does have one important condition. “Félice in particular thinks: give me the script and I will stand in front of the camera,” he says. Still, Jay wants to have more say in the episodes. “The NPO determines exactly for you what is filmed and broadcast. I want to be able to put my own spin on it.”
Saffiera, on the other hand, doesn’t really feel like having all those cameras. She also understands what Jay means. “For me, a television program has little added value,” she says. “You never know what the program makers will ultimately make of the recordings.”
It remains unclear whether the Lopez family will be seen again in the near future A House Full. Fans of dad Jay and his family do not have to mourn, as he continues to share plenty about their daily experiences on social media.
