The Rose Tree

If there is one location that has been around for decades in Good Times, Bad Times, it is De Rozenboom. The chic hotel has had many different looks, but that is not what today is about. It’s about the owner. Ludo is currently ensuring that everything is organized down to the last detail, but he is not actually the owner. That is his granddaughter Nola (Noa Jacobus).

To understand how this came about, we have to go back years ago. De Rozenboom originally had Carel Kortenaer as owner. When he chose to end his life, he wrote a suicide note. However, this letter never reached its destination because Ludo (Erik de Vogel) set it on fire. The tough businessman immediately claimed the hotel, to avoid his arch-enemy Martine (Inge Ipenburg).

mike vs. Lorena

A lot happened in the years that followed, but the hotel remained in Ludo’s hands. Until both Mike Brandt (Louis Talpe) and Lorena (Gigi Ravelli) started listening to it. With a little blackmail, the latter eventually managed to acquire the hotel for a historically low amount. But that wasn’t the end of the fairy tale.

Mike still sought revenge in the years that followed. He himself went so far as to feign feelings for Lorena and ultimately poisoned her twice. Under the influence, Lorena eventually signed a contract that caused her to lose the hotel. But then again, karma knows no mercy either. Mike eventually died during the parachute jump and so his daughter Nola inherited the hotel. However, she only started serving when she was eighteen.
