MALMöIsraeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has said his country will not accept ‘any loss’ at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. Israel demands the “full and unconditional support” of all jurors.

On behalf of Israel, singer Eden Golan will participate in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Thursday with the song Hurricane. Prime Minister Netanyahu has urged the jury to “reject in the strongest terms” all other songs.

Strict security measures apply around the Malmö Arena. Netanyahu says the Israeli singer is “well trained and fully prepared” for the onstage confrontation.

“You know what we are capable of.”

If Israel manages to fight through the semi-finals, the country can participate in the final on Saturday. Netanyahu says Israel will do ‘whatever it takes to win the Eurovision Song Contest’. He didn’t say what exactly he meant by that.

“The battle for the Eurovision Song Contest has been going on since 1956. It is time to wipe out all other countries once and for all,” Netanyahu said. “You know what we are capable of. Malmö is a beautiful city. Let’s keep it that way.”
