Death in Paradise: Don Gilet takes over leading role from Ralf Little – de Lagarde

The actor from Sherwood and Shetland, among others, plays a detective who is transferred from London to the idyllic Saint Marie.

The BBC revealed that actor Don Gilet will play the lead role in the fourteenth season of the British crime series Death in Paradise. The actor who previously appeared in series such as Sherwood and Shetland plays DI Mervin Wilson, who is transferred from London to the idyllic island of Saint Marie and is none too happy in his new surroundings. Gilet will make his debut later this year in the Christmas special of Death in Paradise, before starring in a full TV season in 2025. The recordings of Death in Paradise recently started in Guadeloupe. In addition to Gilet, the upcoming season also features familiar cast members Don Warrington, Shantol Jackson, Ginny Holder, Élizabeth Bourgine and Danny John-Jules. Gilet is the successor to Ralf Little, after the leading role was previously played by Ben Miller, Kris Marshall and Ardal O’Hanlon. Marshall was later given a spin-off titled Beyond Paradisewhich now has a third season in the works.
