The bear was located by the authorities after ten days, using, among other things, a drone. The animal was shot dead in the forest, reports the British broadcaster BBC.

The Slovak region has been on ‘state of alert’ for the past week amid fears that more bears would attack.
Earlier this month, a 31-year-old tourist from Belarus died after an encounter with another bear in northern Slovakia. The woman fell down a slope while fleeing from the animal. She suffered fatal head injuries in the fall, according to police.
European rules
The Slovak government wants more freedom to reduce the country’s bear population, the BBC reports. Some MPs say the recent attack proves that European rules on wildlife protection should be relaxed.
Slovakia has about 1100 to 1200 wild bears. They usually avoid people if they notice them in time. They may attack if a surprise encounter occurs or if female bears think their cubs are threatened.
