MOSCOW – This year too, plenty of jokes were made on April 1st. Many companies and famous people tried to prank people with all kinds of jokes. World leaders also participated in the April Fools’ tradition, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Vladimir Putin addressed the Russian people with an April Fools’ speech. In this speech he showed that he has not lost his humor despite the war in Ukraine. For example, he stated without batting an eyelid that he has no intention of using nuclear weapons.
“Aggression is not a good response under any circumstances. Both I and all my predecessors have and had peace as a top priority. Russia is built on peaceability. I will only use nuclear means if the survival of the motherland is in danger,” Putin said with a stony face.
For a moment the joke seemed to work, but soon several generals and colonels roared with laughter, after which Putin could no longer contain his laughter.
