An ‘apocalypse’ will occur if Russia uses its nuclear arsenal ‘in retaliation for Western actions’. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko warns the Belarusian parliament about this.
The warning from the Belarusian autocrat comes after Russia has repeatedly stated that Western support for Ukraine could lead to a direct confrontation with Russia. According to the country, this could lead to a nuclear conflict. According to Lukashenko, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, “the world’s largest nuclear powers are already, indirectly, fighting on Ukrainian territory.” According to him, the Ukrainian territory is used as a ‘test area’ to determine the ‘future world order’.

Peace talks
Lukashenko also states that the “time is ripe” to start peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. According to him, the conditions are there now because there would be a stalemate at the front. He sees a basis for possible peace talks in the previous peace talks that took place in Turkey, when the war between Russia and Ukraine was only a few weeks old.

Border Ukraine
Meanwhile, Lukashenko also fears violence at his border. According to him, the ‘risk is quite high’ that incidents will occur, including due to the deployment of 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers at its border. Belarus is also said to detect dozens of Western spy planes every week in the vicinity of their airspace.
