Russia carried out air strikes in various Ukrainian regions during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Energy facilities have been attacked. There appear to have been no casualties.

According to the Ukrainian Minister of Energy, the attacks targeted energy infrastructure in the cities of Kyiv, Poltava and Lviv, among others. Targets were also attacked elsewhere in Ukraine.

Governors of various regions report damage and fire, but no injuries or deaths. DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private electricity company, reports serious damage to equipment at three power plants. “Energy engineers are currently working to eliminate the effects of the attack,” the company wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainian army reports that air defense systems in Kyiv and the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, among others, were activated.

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, more than fifty missiles and twenty drones were used by the Russians in the attack. Most of them would have been shot out of the sky. Russia itself has not yet responded.
