Mark Stokmans studied general literature, specializing in Latin American studies and international relations. He received the 2023 Bookstore Prize for Land of Echoes. More than 20,000 copies have already been sold. It is a monumental novel about good and evil against the backdrop of feudal Spain in the 1930s. Spiegeldagen, which was released in February 2024, is the successor to Land of Echoes. This book is also set in Spain, the country where his grandparents owned a house and where he himself spent many summers. A beautiful work that has been received just as enthusiastically as the first book.
