Air traffic to France is experiencing major disruption due to air traffic controller strikes. This also leads to cancellations of flights between Schiphol and Paris.

Today, eight flights from Air France and KLM have already been canceled due to the strikes. These also have consequences for flights that cross French airspace, for example to the United Kingdom.

Ryanair says it has had to cancel more than three hundred flights as a result of the actions.

Air traffic controllers in France are fighting for higher pay and improvements to other employment conditions. It appeared last night that air traffic controllers would call off the strike after the main union reached an agreement.

But that agreement came too late to prevent disruptions to air traffic. Negotiations with other unions had not yet been completed.
