KPN plans to replace the existing fiber optic boxes for an unknown number of customers with a new one from Genexis or Nokia. The new cabinets would be less susceptible to interference. Eligible customers are invited to make an appointment with a technician.

The provider announces that a number of customers will receive an email from the Roamler company. Customers with a call can then make an appointment with a company technician. Replacing the box and installing the new variant takes about fifteen minutes, according to KPN. KPN says that the new fiber optic boxes last longer and are less susceptible to disruptions.

Replacing the cabinets is free of charge, but is only possible for customers with an invitation. KPN does not say how many customers will have their fiber optic box replaced. Although the provider does not mention this, it appears to concern customers who currently have a Genexis box. A support page shows that the current boxes will be replaced by one of the following two options: the XS-010X0Q from Nokia or a new, less susceptible to interference version of the Genexis box.
