After ten years, the marriage between singer Sieneke and her husband Jan Baum has come to an end. The two did not part as friends, as Sieneke previously claimed in an interview with Prive.

COMBAT DIVORCE

According to her husband Jan Baum, things are completely different and there is no good relationship at all. According to him, the two ended up in the ordinary divorce battle with the home where they have shared joys and sorrows all those years at stake.

EXCESS VALUE

A house that Jan bought alone in 2014 for a price of 325,000 euros and which has a mortgage of 334,000 euros. The current value of the house would be around EUR 7,000, so there is an excess value of EUR 366,000. So one of the two will have to pay the other an amount of 183,000 euros and that’s where the shoe pinches.

THE BATTLE

Jan says: “The battle is for the house. Sieneke wants to continue living there with the children and I want to put the house up for sale. I have already won the case involving the children. I was in danger of not being able to see it anymore.

I indicated that I had no objection to Sieneke continuing to live there with our two children. I told her that she should try to get a mortgage from the bank. And in that case she has to deal with me.

COURT

The house has excess value and if Sieneke wants to continue living there she will have to pay me half of that. So far she is not cooperating at all. If that continues, I will take her to court.

In that case, there is simply no other option left open. Then the judge will have to decide whether or not I can sell the house.” It is hoped that the two can still come to an agreement before the judge has to get involved.
