Career Marlijn Weerdenburg

Weerdenburg completed her studies at the Amsterdam Theater School and Kleinkunstacademie in 2008. Afterwards she played in the musical, among other things Soldier of Orange. She became known to the general public for her leading role in the series Danni Lowinski, which aired from 2013 to 2016. In the fifteenth season of Who is the mole? Marlijn came second. Weerdenburg also has experience presenting TV programs about food. For example, she presented the KRO-NCRV program from 2016 to 2019 Healthy sandwich. Relation

At Story Marlijn previously told how she met her husband Paul Broers, whom she has known since 2015. ‘We met during my presentation debut at the Nijmegen Four Days Marches. I was extremely nervous and Paul had to record the sound for me. He saw my nerves and really put me at ease.’ She has enormous praise for her husband: ‘Paul is sweet, caring, handsome, nice and strong. Everything I look for in a man. He is stable and makes me calm. And at the same time not. Because he also gives me a lot of butterflies in my stomach.’ They have two sons together; Teun (2017) and Sammie (2021).

Starting a family

In an interview with Parents of Now the presenter shares that she had been together with Paul for over a year when they decided to have a child. ‘Paul and I had only known each other for three months when my father was diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately, he has now recovered, but that news completely turned my life upside down and our relationship on edge. Paul immediately got to know me at my very fear. He was really there for me then, so I knew it was right: with him I can handle anything,” she said candidly. Later Marlijn thought for a moment that she was pregnant, Paul wanted to go for it. In the end it turned out not to be the case, but the couple decided to have a child. “My father’s illness, being confronted with the finiteness of life, made us realize: what are we actually waiting for?” Weerdenburg said in Parents of Now.
