Edwin Evers lives with an intruder in the house for a few weeks: ‘Mud on the stairs’

At that moment, the radio DJ also goes to take a look himself, but thinks nothing of it because no one has visited. “So it’s cleared up and I didn’t think about it anymore.” About five weeks ago he suddenly saw something strange on the camera while he was working in his studio at night. A person with a bicycle stands in front of his fence looking at his house. Nothing else happens, so Evers takes no action.

However, last Thursday he saw something striking again. “I’m working in the studio, look at the camera and see someone I don’t know walking behind the garage. I was completely shocked. And then the penny dropped in one fell swoop.” The mystery surrounding the mess that the worker found weeks earlier has suddenly been solved.

Intruder

Evers calls the police and they arrest the intruder. “So that guy lived there for about five weeks: slept, laid out his clothes, showered. We got upstairs and the shower was still warm. I was in complete disarray. It’s such a strange feeling having someone in your house. It is very scary.”

The 43-year-old man from Hardenberg is still in custody. Evers said that it concerns a confused person without shelter. It is not clear how he managed to get into his guest room without being noticed during those weeks. The radio DJ is shocked, but is mainly concerned about the man’s fate. “Why doesn’t anyone help him? Why does he have to cycle around and sleep at someone’s house? I was very angry, but not anymore. It is a very sad and pathetic story.”
