Bibi is now doing ‘great’, after being very ill for a long time due to her pregnancy. “I can get through my day again, so I really enjoy every moment that things get better,” she says &C. There are still mornings when she feels sick, but according to Bibi it is no longer as bad as other weeks.

Bibi suffers from HG (hyperemesis gravidarum), which causes her to experience extreme nausea during pregnancy. As a result, she was admitted to hospital six times in a short period of time. She calls her third pregnancy ‘the most intense yet’. “There were days when I could only lie in bed with my eyes closed while being fed a tube. I couldn’t tolerate any stimuli, everything was a trigger to vomit.”

After the birth of her first daughter Teddy, Bibi was reluctant to have a second child because of the HG. After a few years she changed tack and had their son Chester together with Waylon. According to the singer, the third pregnancy came as a surprise. “The third came as a gift, so I didn’t prepare for that.”

Bibi is now six months pregnant and she especially wants to create awareness among women about IPV. “It is a serious condition and many women miss out on proper medical care due to misunderstanding. I have even heard stories of women who were forced to terminate their pregnancies or lost their teeth.”

It wasn’t always easy for daughter Teddy either. “She understood what was going on with me, but not what it was doing to her mentally.” Teddy stood at her mother’s bedside crying because she was angry with herself and everyone around her. “She just didn’t really understand where it came from. We then talked about it together and it turned out that she missed me very much.”

Because of the HG, Bibi could not even tolerate the smell of her children for a while. “From a nature point of view, it is very strange that you can hardly bear your children. I really had a hard time with that.” Fortunately, Bibi is doing much better now and she especially wants to enjoy the last months of her pregnancy.
