Keyboardist Mike Pinder of the band The Moody Blues has passed away. The musician was one of the founders of The Moody Blues and was 82 years old. He died at home on Wednesday surrounded by his family.

Pinder was the last surviving member of the group that formed in 1964. Pinder was a member of the band until 1978 and returned for a reunion in 2014.

The band was successful in the 1960s with major hits such as Nights in White Satin and Tuesday Afternoon. The other original members were bassist Clint Warwick, singer Ray Thomas, drummer Graeme Edge and guitarist Denny Laine. They have all now passed away.

In 1966, singer Justin Hayward joined the band. He wrote some of the band’s biggest hits, including Nights in White Satin.

The Moody Blues were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
