The courses are intended for anyone who is active in any way as a volunteer in the municipality of Groningen, according to Marja Wolthuizen (Link050). As a volunteer you sometimes need certain courses to do your work properly, but some people do not have the money for that. That is why Link050 started offering free courses. The training courses are also intended for everyone with a participation job, according to OOG TV.

Wolthuizen says that about 110 to 120 courses are offered. These courses are completely free for volunteers. The initiator does not receive a subsidy from the municipality of Groningen for this. There is a very diverse range of courses and workshops. For example, courses on communication or a workshop on dealing with aggression. The offer is based on the needs of the volunteers. If a specific course for which there is demand is not available, a request can still be submitted to Ontwikkelinglink.

For all volunteers

This offer therefore applies to anyone who is active in any way as a volunteer within the municipality of Groningen. It does not matter how many hours you volunteer or in what way. For example, it could be with a volunteer organization, but it can also be if you are involved in a neighborhood initiative or if you are active as a lice parent at a school. “With everything you do without pay to improve society, you can take advantage of the offer,” says Wolthuizen.

You can check which courses are suitable on the Link050 website. A booklet will also be published in September this year with interviews and information about Ontwikkelinglink. This booklet was written by people who took the ‘Creative Writing’ course.
