It concerns 71-year-old Marc Olbrechts and 66-year-old Laura Trappeniers, a Flemish couple living in Tenerife. El Centro Nacional de Desaparecidos, the Spanish National Center for Missing Persons, has issued a search notice.
The couple has been missing since April 24, according to the CNDES, but according to their friends and acquaintances on the island, they were last seen on April 22 in Callao Salvaje, their hometown.
“Laura responded to an advertisement on the internet that afternoon at 4:37 p.m. Later that day, Laura and Marc went to yoga class,” the Nieuwsblad said. The alarm would have gone off in their home in the evening, but the contact the emergency center called was on holiday.
Opel Mokka
It now appears that the back door of the house was not locked and that the couple’s Opel Mokka has disappeared. The fact that keys and a mobile phone were left behind and that no one was called in to care for the cat also causes great concern.
“No, they did not leave voluntarily,” a friend of the couple told the newspaper.
