“There is a shortage on the labor market, especially in the field of technical personnel,” says person involved Jim Goedhart in the radio program Zeeland Wakes Up. Then you have to look outside Zeeland. And according to him, it pays off enormously not to do this individually, but to work together. This allows you to save costs and increase opportunities.

“The companies participating in this process really say: we must jointly expand the pond for Zeeland. It is really nice that they are stepping over their own shadows.” The big advantage of doing this is that if there appears to be no connection between employer and candidate, people may be able to go to another company. “Normally, in individual actions, the candidate is thrown back into the pond outside Zeeland.”

Initially, the campaign will focus on the rest of the Netherlands and specifically on two other countries: Poland and Spain. For the latter, according to Goedhart, there are people who want to come to Zeeland for an economically better situation.

According to him, Zeeland can also offer advantages for technicians from the rest of our country. For example, the province would provide a lot of room for career opportunities due to the aging population. In addition, there may be more to come from the campaign. “The strength of this campaign is that it mainly focuses on candidates: what are the reasons for ultimately not doing it. We will remove those barriers and objections as much as possible.”
