Peter Jansen, the former bassist of the band WC Experience, has died at the age of 75. The band from Raamsdonksveer writes on Facebook that the current members are very sad about the death of the man who was their bassist for 25 years, but also the administration and booker of the band. Jansen had been ill for some time.

Jansen’s death comes at a time when WC Experience, known for party songs in the Raamsdonksveer dialect, is celebrating its 35th anniversary. WC Experience scored hits such as ‘Bakkes oep ne kaai’, ‘Pancake in my underpants’ and ‘Am I allowed to smoke here?’. The musicians have their own genre down to ‘Rock ‘n Loll‘ labeled.

Jansen was the band’s first sound engineer and later became the bassist. He performed in that role for 25 years and became the nestor of the band. Due to Lewy Body disease, a rare form of dementia, Jansen’s health has continued to deteriorate in recent years.

“We are going to miss you immensely”

After his farewell performance in 2015, Jansen remained active for WC Experience. He arranged the band’s bookings and did the administration. He also often came to performances with his wife. “We are very grateful that we were able to share these moments with Peter, ‘Petej’,” WC Experience writes on Facebook. “Rest in peace good old Peter. We’re going you unbelievably to miss!”

In 2023, the song ‘De Klompendans’ by the WC Experience went viral on TikTok:
