UTRECHT > The thirteenth Open Garden Day Utrecht will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024. More than fifty private gardens and courtyards in and around the city center of Utrecht, most of which are not publicly accessible, will then open their gates to the public. The passe-partouts for this green event are available from Wednesday 1 May at the VVV-Utrecht.

Invisible behind medieval walls and picturesque gates in the city center lie the Utrecht city and courtyard gardens: green oases of peace and often surprising garden architecture. Every garden has its own character, whether it concerns large institutional gardens or small private gardens, hidden courtyards and courtyards, gardens with sober architecture or gardens with statues and ponds. The Open Garden Day Utrecht gives interested parties a unique opportunity to enjoy these special gardens.

The gardens

New this year include the beautifully enclosed city garden at Nieuwegracht 45 and the garden at Springweg 107, which is particularly striking because of its special plants. In addition, gardens that have only participated a few times before are participating, such as Brigittenstraat 9, a corner garden with different levels. Fixed values such as the Zuylenspiegel garden on ABC Street, the small walled city garden at Nieuwegracht 201 and several gardens on Maliebaan are also present again this year. The Oude Hortus on Lange Nieuwstraat is back, which has not been able to participate for a number of years due to the renovation of the University Museum.

Passepartout

On the Utrecht Open Garden Day, the participating gardens can be visited between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. upon presentation of a passe-partout. This program booklet contains a description of each location and a handy map with walking routes. A passe-partout costs € 15.00 per person and is available from Wednesday 1 May at the VVV Utrecht, Domplein 9 or for sale via the VVV webshop: https://utrecht-winkel.nl/
