That document was recently signed by Sjors Blomen, chairman of the general board of RD Maasland and his colleague Freed Janssen, chairman of Rd4. Both directors emphasize that the identity of both companies is not affected by this. “This mainly concerns cooperation at implementation level, jointly starting projects and knowledge sharing. Because we largely do the same work, we seek each other out to strengthen each other,” says a spokesperson.

Circular economy

The collaboration should be seen in particular in the transition to a circular economy. “This means that for organizations such as Rd4 and RD Maasland, their boards and their participating municipalities, there is a new international framework with far-reaching objectives in the field of waste and raw materials management and all associated services,” both parties explain. cooperation. The waste processors expect to support the participating municipalities with local circular objectives.

Further professionalization of both organizations, financial benefits through economies of scale, further sustainability of services, knowledge sharing and securing capacity are also key points within the agreement.

Waste heroes

Both parties also know how to find each other in other areas. For example, during the Waste Heroes Week, a joint photo opportunity was recently created between Rd4, RD Maasland and the waste alliance Meerssen-Maastricht-Valkenburg aan de Geul (GR Geul en Maas). “We have brought our different vehicles together and created an image together with the directors to encourage our waste heroes.”

Business

Rd4 is active for 10 municipalities in South Limburg, RD Maasland has Central Limburg as its working area and works for the municipalities of Leudal, Maasgouw, Roerdalen and Echt-Susteren. Both waste collectors are also active in the business community.
