Wolter Vos Kappers offers local art a platform
You just have to dare: completely change course by moving to another city, more or less starting over there, or even starting something completely different.
We recently came into contact with three different people who recently moved to Middelburg and who are now exploring the possibilities of the city. We always enjoy giving tips, but ultimately it is up to the people themselves to find their way and integrate into the local world that suits them best.
Arie de Graaf
One of those people is Arie de Graaf. A few weeks ago he inquired about exhibition opportunities in the city for budding artists. That is quite a difficult one, we think, because we cannot speak for gallery owners or the owners/managers of buildings in the city. Arie has already exhibited once in Het Lokaal on Zusterplein, during the Middelburg Art and Culture Route in March.
But now there was suddenly a surprising follow-up message: since this week, a few works by Arie have been hanging in the Wolter Vos Kappers salon on Damplein. Wolter is passionate about local art and wants to give painters and photographers a platform in the business from now on. There is already a modest list. Some names on the list don’t even seem to know they are on it yet
