Drenthe is the first region in the Netherlands to draw up a work agenda for future-proof care. Major changes are needed to keep healthcare good, accessible and affordable. The Drenthe plan must reduce the pressure on the healthcare sector and make the transition from care to health. Various parties in healthcare and welfare, residents, municipalities, health insurers and other stakeholders work together within the Gezond Marke partnership to achieve this. This is reported by Gezonde Marke.

Drenthe appears to be facing major and difficult challenges. And on this basis, a goal has been drawn up, or The Drenthe Dream: vulnerable groups will have an additional ten healthy years of life by 2040, the well-being and well-being have been strengthened for all residents and everyone has equal opportunities for appropriate care.
The work agenda includes fifty projects, initiatives and transformation programs, divided over six main themes. The ideas concern, for example, chain care for fall prevention, strengthening primary care or gaining insight into waiting times in healthcare.

From July 1, 2024, the Healthy Marke will have a permanent implementation organization.
