A caravan completely burned out at the ‘t Wolfsven campsite in Mierlo on Tuesday morning. Due to the flames, little more than a pile of scrap metal remained of the caravan.

No one at the campsite was injured. No people have stayed in the caravan since Sunday. According to a fire brigade spokesperson, the owner left the campsite that day. When the fire brigade arrived at ‘t Wolfsven, there was little left of the caravan. According to the fire brigade, it is not clear what the cause of the fire is. To prevent worse, firefighters removed gas bottles from the caravan.

A guest staying at ‘t Wolfsven says that the flames spread very quickly. According to this camping guest, there was also an explosion in which several gas bottles flew through the air. The fire brigade says they have not seen this, but do talk about a refrigerator that caused noise during the fire.

A caravan with an awning that was located next to the fire also suffered damage. A camping guest tried to extinguish the fire with a garden hose. However, the flames also reached some trees. That led to blackened treetops.
