West Frisian well-wishers regret threats

Han Neef of the West Friesland Food Bank thinks it is “too crazy for words” that the foundation from Venhuizen has to stop due to threats. “The volunteers do their best, and are also dependent on what they get sponsored,” says Neef.

The two men both have different experiences. “Luckily we get a lot of happy faces. This morning a man called in tears because of a bicycle he had received. That is very nice to hear,” says Jan Kooijman.

“We also sometimes hear that someone is not completely satisfied,” the benefactor continues. “But fortunately we have never had to deal with threats ourselves. People should also be happy that they are offered something that can help them.”

The same applies to the food bank. “We see many satisfied people walking out the door, sometimes with three shopping bags or another birthday package,” says Neef.

Leftover items to Children’s Clothing Bank Hoorn

Van der Neut closed the space of his Kinder Cadeau Foundation last week with great emotion. Items from the foundation have been transferred to the Children’s Clothing Bank in Hoorn. “It’s sad that it happened this way,” says the 23-year-old founder.

“Of course there have been many grateful children and families. But the negative predominates. I hope that people who have treated us in such a way realize that they have caused a lot of suffering. And that this is really no longer possible.”
