As of today, the new tunnel arch on Julianaplein has been put into use and traffic can again drive from Haren and Assen (A28) towards Hoogkerk and Drachten (A7).

Motorists can continue towards Drachten or turn towards the Western ring road. The route in the opposite direction, from Drachten to Assen, recently opened.

Vondellaan and Brailleweg are also open to traffic again. The new access ramp from Vondellaan in the direction of Drachten opened on Monday. This means that traffic can drive from Vondellaan to the A7 towards Drachten, but also towards the western ring road.

In addition, the temporary driveway is open from the Meeuwerderbaan to the Hereweg. The temporary road uses a section of the ring road and the old exit to the Hereweg. The temporary road will close again on July 19.

Phase 4

Since Saturday, the route to East Groningen has been closed for months. Traffic can best detour via the western and northern ring roads. This phase lasts 4 months. The new ring road will open according to the current schedule on September 2.
