Second extension

The Netherlands has been participating in eFP since February 9, 2017. The contribution to the advanced NATO presence has already been extended in 2021. Now this is happening again, as the Russian threat has increased further.

In addition to the Netherlands, Germany (560 soldiers), Belgium (200 soldiers), Norway (140 soldiers) and the Czech Republic (36 soldiers) also contribute to the mission. For the Netherlands, the 13 Light Brigade and the 43 Mechanized Brigade of the Army Command are regularly active in Lithuania.

The Netherlands is discussing with Germany the possibility of contributing to a permanent German brigade in Lithuania.
