--

Omroep Zeeland is coming to Vlissingen. Not for a report but for a move. While the Machine Factory was previously mentioned as the new home for the regional broadcaster, the choice was made for a new office near the Keersluis Bridge.

The editorial staff of Omroep Zeeland is now still located on Kanaalstraat in Oost-Souburg. The broadcaster has been located in the village’s old town hall since its founding in 1990. Now, 34 years later, it is time for a move.

No Machine Factory

According to director Mike Ackermans, the current building is no longer good enough for Omroep Zeeland. For example, the spaces would be far too small and the maintenance costs would be too high. The broadcaster’s new office will be located on Prins Hendrikweg and will be completely newly built. According to the director, there will be more space for a large editorial floor and the area around the building can be used for broadcasts.

In a news item, Omroep Zeeland announced that the organization previously wanted to move to Vlissingen, but that this was not possible for financial reasons. Now it is possible. While previous rumors were circulating about a possible arrival at the Machine Factory, a new building will be added in Vlissingen.
