On the Wednesday evening before Ascension Day, the Flemish Steven de Muyt from Lembeke competed in the 10 kilometer long city run in Biervliet. Lou-Ann Smit from Terneuzen was the fastest lady in the 10 km.

After the first lap, De Muyt left no doubt that he was the fastest and took a lead of almost half a minute over Erwin Harmes from Nieuwland, Sander d’Hont from Sint Jansteen, Rens de Ridder from Arnemuiden and Arjen de Feijter from Terneuzen. In the remaining three laps, De Muyt continued to advance to a winning finish in 32.53.

D’Hont limited the damage in second place (34.15) with De Ridder at three seconds. After the first lap, Lou-Ann Smit was still nine seconds behind Marieke Mullaert from IJzendijke. In the remaining three laps, Smit narrowed the gap slightly to score on the line in 41.11, with Mullaert just three seconds behind. Renate van Huffel from Sint Jansteen needed an extra minute in third place.

Carlo Fieret from Nieuwvliet had a time of 28.51 on the 7.5 km sufficient for the win. Tianda Dinker Curtius from Philippine was the fastest lady at that distance in 32.14. The 5 km resulted in victory for Mark Verhyage from Zaamslag in 17.01 and Romy de Bruijne from Terneuzen in 19.39.
