Bad news for Kim Huybrechts (38). The Belgian darts player was involved in a brawl after the cup final between Antwerp and Union. Huybrechts suffered serious blows and broke his (throwing) shoulder in two places. The Belgian will undergo surgery on Friday.
It all happened after the cup final between Antwerp and Union at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Huybrechts and some fellow Antwerp supporters were allegedly attacked in a park while on their way to their bus. This is confirmed on the Facebook page of Huybrechts’ dart shop, where an X-ray was also shared.
The incident has major consequences for Huybrechts. The Hurricane broke his right collarbone in two places during the incident and has to undergo surgery. It is unclear for now how long he will be sidelined, but it will certainly be a while. On the right is the throwing arm of the Belgian number two.
