Famke Janssen does not rule out return as X-Men superhero Phoenix: ‘You never know’ | RTL Boulevard

Jean Gray is a fictional superhero from Marvel Comics. Under her pseudonym Phoenix, the character is best known as a member of the X-Men. Famke played this role in the films X Men, X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. The last film dates back to 2006.

“I don’t know,” says Famke about a possible return. “I mean, I didn’t think I would return after Jean Gray died,” the actress says. In X-Men: The Last Stand Famke could be seen as Phoenix after the death of Jean Grey. “And later I was featured in flashback scenes in The Wolverine and Days of Future Past.”

All those roles were ‘surprises’ that Famke never expected, she says in the interview. About a new appearance in the Marvel Universe, she says: “I don’t know. I have my doubts about that, but you never know.”

Although Famke has now achieved much international success, she is now working on a Dutch-language Netflix series. She plays the lead role in a seven-part crime drama Amsterdam Empire. “I am really looking forward to returning to the Netherlands for my very first Dutch role,” Famke said in a press statement. It is not yet known when the series will be shown.
