Jon Bon Jovi found the song Livin’ On A Prayer not so special at first. That’s what the lead singer of the American rock band says Bon Jovi against magazine People. The song is known as one of the band’s biggest hits.

“It wasn’t that I didn’t want to record the song, but I wasn’t that impressed the day we wrote it,” Bon Jovi says of the song. “They were simple melodies. But when it came to life in the studio, the song became what it is today.”

Afterwards, the 62-year-old artist admits that he was wrong. “It’s now one of our best-known songs.” Other famous songs from Bon Jovi are among others You Give Love A Bad Name and It’s My Life.

Livin’ on a Prayer was released in 1986. It became the second song with which the rock band managed to conquer the number 1 position on the charts.

The song is still widely listened to. For example, in 2013 it was awarded triple platinum for more than 3 million downloads.
