Apple will produce fewer copies of the Vision Pro glasses. That’s what analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says. Demand for the mixed reality glasses is said to be lower than expected. Apple is therefore adjusting production from 800,000 to a maximum of 450,000 units in 2024.
Kuo, who typically shares reliable information about Apple’s products and services, said the production cuts indicate demand for the Vision Pro has plummeted in the U.S. market. The arrival of the successor to the Vision Pro, which was initially scheduled for release in 2025, may be postponed due to lower demand.
At the same time, Apple is about to release the mixed reality glasses outside the United States. According to the analyst, the iPhone maker would take a more conservative attitude there. Apple previously announced that the Vision Pro will be available for sale in China later this year. It is not clear whether the headset will also be released in Europe. The glasses are currently only for sale in the United States.
