FC Twente coach Joseph Oosting says he has little interest in the rumors about a departure to Feyenoord. The trainer thinks Feyenoord is a great club, but does not want to get ahead of things.
The Feyenoord song was played in the dressing room of FC Twente on Wednesday after the match against Almere City (3-1). Hand in hand comrades played. “There are a few guys with us who have a lot of fun,” Oosting said ESPN. “I can appreciate that humor.”
Oosting is frequently mentioned as one of the candidates to succeed Arne Slot at De Kuip. The Feyenoord coach is in the keen interest of Liverpool, which has also reported to the club management.
“I read it and it is nice, but I work at FC Twente and I am having a good time,” said Oosting. “What should I do with it? It’s all rumors. I really enjoy it here and have signed a two-year contract. So it is what it is.”
What if Feyenoord actually reports? “That ‘if, if, if’. I don’t do that,” Oosting replied. “If it happens, we’ll see. And I don’t care about rumors or what’s in the press. Feyenoord is a nice club, but I am now also at a very nice club.”
Oosting celebrated on Wednesday that FC Twente has secured participation in a European group stage for the first time since the 2012/2013 season. The Enschede team is already assured of Europa League football and is on course for a place in the preliminary round of the Champions League.
