FC Barcelona is seriously considering selling Frenkie de Jong, according to the generally reliable information Diario AS to report. The Dutch midfielder is at the top of the list to leave and has plenty of options next summer.

In the summer of 2022, Manchester United was clearly in the market for De Jong. Barça then refused to cooperate in the departure of the midfielder and De Jong himself also indicated that he did not want to make a transfer.

Two years later, Barcelona will sell him, it seems. The Catalan club is in financial problems and a sale of De Jong could generate a lot of money.

In addition, the former Ajax and Willem II player is one of the club’s top earners. Another reason for Barcelona to get rid of him.
