The fire broke out around 9:30 PM at a company specializing in car electronics. The business premises can no longer be saved. A spokesperson for the fire brigade said that the fire had spread to eight adjacent companies.
Shortly after the fire broke out, the fire brigade scaled up to a ‘very large fire’, which means that additional equipment, including from fire brigade units outside Amsterdam, was deployed to extinguish the fire.
The fire caused a lot of smoke, which could be seen in the surrounding area.
