Plane loses emergency slide shortly after departure from New York | Economy

--

An emergency slide deployed during the departure of a Boeing aircraft from New York. The plane with 183 passengers had to make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.

The aircraft, a Boeing 767, belongs to the Delta Air Lines fleet. The airline reports that the plane is being “thoroughly” investigated. For now it remains on the ground.

The American aviation regulator FAA is also investigating the incident. Aircraft manufacturer Boeing has been under fire since January because a part of an aircraft came loose several times since January. There are several ongoing investigations into the company.

It is not known whether the new incident has anything to do with quality problems at Boeing. Many problems with aircraft arise during maintenance of the aircraft.

Boeing is the second largest manufacturer of aircraft worldwide, behind Airbus. Boeing has a market share of 42 percent worldwide.
