Danner cracks Red Bull: “Newey exit is the beginning of the end”

The Red Bull Racing team will say goodbye to Adrian Newey after this year. The team confirmed the news ahead of the race weekend in Miami, but they did not expect Newey’s departure to have much impact on success. However, Christian Danner states that this is the beginning of the end of Red Bull’s success.

Newey played an important role in the successes of Red Bull Racing. The top designer was responsible for all of Red Bull’s title-winning cars. His work at Red Bull is now coming to an end, but he is not leaving completely yet. He will focus on the RB17 for the time being, and at the beginning of 2025 he will finally close the Red Bull door behind him.

The other leaders of Red Bull stated last week that Newey’s departure will not have a major impact on the results. Former driver and current analyst Christian Danner tells Motorsport-Magazin that he thinks slightly differently: “This is the beginning of the end of the Red Bull dominance. I am not saying that the team will collapse, but the dominance is It’s over with Newey’s departure.” According to Danner, this has also happened in the past: “The teams Adrian worked for previously always said that his departure would not cause any problems.”
